چکیده

Differentiai pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry can be applied to sea water with high sensitivity for nickel and cobalt analysis (limits of detection about 0.005 and 0.002 j.lg L 1 respectively) using the dimethylglyoxime complexes. At concentrations of 0.200 j.lg Ni L -l and 0.050 j.lg Co L 1 the standard deviations for replicate analyses were 8% and 2% respectively. The linearity of the calibration curve derived during the method of standard additions was ± 5% for Ni and ± 1% for Co. Analysis of water from North Western Mediterranean Sea profiles gave Ni levels of 0.207 ±0.043 Jlg L 1 and Co levels of 0.006±0.003 Jlg L 1• The metallevels found accorded closely with those reported by other authors in different oceans.

Simultaneous Adsorptive Stripping Differential Pulse Voltammetric Measurements of Trace Lead, Cadmium and Nickel in the Presence of 2-aminobenzoic Acid

In this study, 2-aminobenzoic acid (ABA) has been used as complexing ligand for simultaneousdetermination of metal ions by adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (AdCSV), for the firsttime. Thus, a selective and sensitive procedure was presented for simultaneous determination oflead, cadmium and nickel using ABA and differential pulse-adsorptive cathodic strippingvolt...

Determination of trace amounts of lead by adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry in the presence of xylenol orange

Lead forms the complexes with xylenol orange in the basic solution. An adsorptivedifferential pulse stripping method for the determination of lead is proposed. The procedureinvolves an adsorptive accumulation of lead on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) inthe presence of xylenol orange, followed by reduction of adsorbed lead by voltammetric scanusing differential pulse modulation. The opt...

Determination of trace metal ions in common salt by stripping voltammetry.

Sensitive voltammetric methods using cathodic and anodic differential pulse stripping techniques were applied for determination of trace ions cadmium(II), cobalt(II), copper(II), lead(II), manganese(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II), which are usually found in different grades of common salt as contaminants. The optimal conditions, i.e., deposition time, preconcentration potential, supporting elect...

Determination of Trace Amounts of Nickel by Differential Pulse Adsorptive Cathodic Stripping Voltammetry Using Calconcarboxylic Acid as a Chelating Agent

A method for the determination of nickel(II) by stripping voltammetry is described. The method is based on the adsorptive accumulation of nickel(II) calconcarboxylic acid complex onto a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), followed by the reduction of the adsorbed complex using differential pulse voltammetry. The optimum operating conditions and parameters were found to be 0.05 M NH3/NH4Cl bu...

DETERMINATION OF ULTRA-TRACE AMOUNTS OF COBALT BY ADSORPTIVE DIFFERENTIAL PULSE VOLTAMMETRY USING ACDA (2-AMINOCYCLOPENTENE- 1-DITHIOCARBOXYLIC ACID)

The present work describes a selective, rapid and sensitive method for the determination of cobalt using the adsorptive differential pulse voltammetry technique. The method is based on the accumulation of Co(II) complex with 2-aminocyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid on a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by measurement of the current of the adsorbed complex. The effects of experimental...
